WarioWare: Smooth Moves is set to be Wario's first appearance on the Nintendo Wii. It is currently planned for a 2007 release in the United States and Europe, but will be a 2006 launch title in Japan. Unlike WarioWare: Mega Party Game$, which was essentially a repackaged Micro Megagame$ for GameCube, Smooth Moves is a completely original game designed to take full advantage of the Wiimote and Nunchuck controller. The game will feature both a one-player and a multiplayer mode capable of supporting up to 5 players.

Smooth Moves will include Wario, Mona, 9-Volt, Ashley, and several other old and new characters, according to Nintendo. The game will also feature appearances by players' Miis (personalized avatars stored in the Wiimotes).

Here's the game's official storyline from Nintendo (to be replaced with something a bit more coherent when we actually know something): While wandering around his home of Diamond City, Wario accidentally stumbles into an old building called the Temple of Form. Inside, he finds a mystical treasure called the Form Baton. There are many ways to hold and move the baton (called “forms”), and legend has it that if the holder follows the forms, he can overcome any challenge. With this discovery, the form craze spreads through Diamond City, and soon everybody is doing their best to master the moves.
